1950s cover girl recalls former glory
Staff at the National Library in Canberra were somewhat surprised when an elderly woman turned up last week and asked if they had a copy of the first issue of People magazine.

What do you think about that dad who put that electric shock dog collar on his kids and then zapped them?
I think that it was mean to do it as he did it because he thought that it was funny, but that there are a lot of bad kids out there who should be fitted with shock collars by court order, so that they can be shocked into behaving.
This really did happen. An Oragan man named Todd Marcum put the collar on his four kids, all aged under 10 and shocked them several times because he thought that it would be funny.
He’s in jail now.

Shock collars are actually recommended by some vets. You can get collars with sensors in them that shock the dog if it barks loudly, or which have a remote control. They are used as training aids.

You think that it’s better to lock them up in Juvie where they get get beat up by the guards, hooked on drugs by the gangs and dealers, and sexually abused by the older inmates?
It’s more humane this way.
